About

The Sakinaw Lake Community Association (SLCA) is a not-for-profit society representing a group of 400-plus property owners and residents on and around Sakinaw Lake in the Pender Harbour area of the Sunshine Coast in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. The purpose of the society is to promote, facilitate, coordinate, support and undertake activities that protect or enhance the environment of Sakinaw Lake and the quality of life of its residents.

The lake is located about 85 km north of Vancouver, accessible by a 40 minute ride on a BC Ferry and a 1 hour drive north on Highway 101. The Lake, which is very warm in summer, is about 7 km long with many interesting bays and it empties directly into the Pacific Ocean. It is home to resident populations of salmon, cutthroat trout, loons and many other species of wildlife. There is an active ski and wakeboard club and many sailing enthusiasts. The Lake is our only water source and all residents maintain a strong regard for the ecology of the lake.
