Michelle Evelyn and David Stiles from the Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project are looking for Sakinaw landowners to sign up for free for their stewardship program to protect the Western Painted turtles. When you join the program, you sign a voluntary stewardship agreement. The Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project agrees to visit the property and provide an assessment of turtle habitat on the land; and provide ongoing support, information and guidance to the landowners about how to maintain and enhance turtle habitat on the property.

The Landowner agrees to preserve existing turtle habitat on the property; take turtles into consideration when planning activities that may alter habitat on the property; and assist with turtle monitoring program by reporting turtle sightings.
