The Bear Bay Stewardship Alliance (BBSA) is an ad hoc community group who's mission is to protect the natural assets in the Bear Bay Road area of Pender Harbour. The group was formed in response to the proposed clear cut block in Pender Harbour's only "old forest" ecosystem just north of Bear Bay rd. The BBSA is working hard to stop logging in this area so that existing recreational use, public safety, riparian and old growth forest habitat is preserved.
